Roger was born in Salt Lake City, Utah in May of 1923 to Charles Ripoli and Ida Rizutto. He moved to California as a small child and lived in Pittsburg, where he excelled in school. He served his country in the Army Air Corps in WWII as a "Ball Turret Gunner". After the war he met and married his wife, Virginia DeLallo in 1951. They moved to Lake Tahoe in 1956 where together they built their home and raised 5 children. Roger joined the Lake Valley Fire Department in 1964, the South Lake Tahoe Fire Department in 1966 and retired as Captain in 1985. Roger was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia and his son, Roger. He is survived by his daughters Pamela (Sean) McGriff, Cheryl (Gerry) Ulm, Elizabeth Ripoli and Virginia (Joe) Redding, by 15 grandchildren and by 5 great-grandchildren. Viewing will be at McFarlane's Mortuary at 887 Emerald Bay Road, South Lake Tahoe from 10:00 am to 12 Noon on Tuesday, June 14th. Burial will follow thereafter to Happy Homestead Cemetery at 1261 Johnson Blvd in South Lake Tahoe.
