Omar Reyes Garcia

We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Omar Reyes Garcia on March 25th, 2023. He is
survived by his Mother Dolores, Brother Cesar, Sister-in-law Adriana, and many Aunts, Uncles,
and cousins, all of those he loved and cared deeply for.

Omar was born in South Lake Tahoe, CA. He grew up in Bijou and loved playing soccer and
basketball with his brother and friends. He enjoyed soccer so much that he moved to
Sacramento and played soccer for American River College. When Omar moved back to Tahoe in 2013, he added his dog Nala to the family. Nala was a massive Saint Bernard that he fell in love with and enjoyed every minute of her until she passed away on March 25, 2020, exactly three years later Omar joined his beloved Nala. They will be put to rest together.

Omar’s true loves in life were his family, friends, and sports. His support for the Raiders and
Lakers were unwavering. He played in the basketball Kahle league and formed an amazing team
that ended up winning the 2022 Championship.

Omar was full of life and energy; he was supportive and kind to everyone he ever met. He will be
greatly missed but never forgotten. In the words of Omar “Let's gooooooooo!!!!”

Family & friends are invited to attend the following events.

The Viewing is Sunday, April 16th from 5 – 7 pm at McFarlane Mortuary 887 Emerald Bay Rd.
Mass will be held Monday, April 17th, 2023, at 11:30 am at St. Theresa Catholic Church followed by a
Burial Service at 1:00pm at Happy Homestead Cemetery 1261 Johnson Blvd.

A Celebration of life to be held at Beach Retreat & Lodge 3411 Lake Tahoe Blvd from 3-10pm
