Lorayne Taylor Obituary (1934 - 2017) - South Lake Tahoe, California

Lorayne G. Taylor (1934-2017) A bright light has gone from this earthly home. Miss Lorayne has returned to her Heavenly Father. She will be missed by all who has the honor of knowing her. There is comfort in the realization that she is with her two older brothers, her mother and father and all of her loving friends that have gone before her. Born in Wichita, Kansas in 1934, so being a farm girl was always in her heart. She loved her time on her grandmother's farm, feeding the animals and getting lots of hugs from her grandparents. She passed those hugs on to many who she met as she journeyed through her life. Lorayne was a part of the Tahoe community for over 50 years and truly loved the lake. She worked as a cocktail waitress and card dealer for Harvey's Casino in her early years. She made many friends there and loved her work. Her later years were spent in the Substance Abuse field. She was a beacon of hope and help in the 12-step community, and because of her love for "God's Kids" many souls were set on the path of a clean and sober way of life. Her willingness to go to any length to be of service will hopefully help others to emulate this beautiful red heads' loving example. Tough when needed, but always ready with a solution and a hug! Her greatest love was her son Robin and his family. He was her joy. Lorayne passed away with 38 years of sobriety and a legacy of love for all of us that had the privilege of trudging with her. We lift our coffee cups to you dear friend and loving mother, till we meet again! A celebration of her life was held on March 16.
