Joe was born on May 7, 1934 at home in Oakland, Ca. He was the youngest child of nine. He went to St. Elizabeth Elementary and High Schools in Oakland. Joe was in the U.S. Army from 1957-1959 and was stationed in Georgia, Germany and Lebanon. He married Ethel, the love of his life, on September 2, 1961 and recently celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary. He worked for General Electric in Oakland until their closure; Duplex Printers in Union City, CA and lastly for the Oakland Tribune in the Pressroom. Joe and Ethel relocated to South Lake Tahoe in 1988 after raising their children. Joe was employed by Harrah's and Harvey's Casinos as well as the Embassy Suites before retiring. Joe enjoyed playing and watching golf, taking long walks, family cruises and spending time with his family, especially his grandkids and attending daily mass whenever able. He was a long-time San Francisco Giants and 49er fan.
