Delbert George Neumeyer passed away on June 5th, 2012, in his home that he built in South Lake Tahoe, Ca. in 1974, with loving family members by his side, at the age of 85. Del was born Sept. 19th, 1926 in Saginaw, Mi. to Louis and Christina Neumeyer. He lived and worked on the family farm until entering the Army in 1950-1953 during the Korean War. He was wounded in 1951 and was awarded the Purple Heart. Returning to Mi. he worked as a carpenter as he did most of his life until retirement. In 1963, he moved from Mi. to Concord Ca. and married Irene Lohrmann and in doing so inherited 3 step-sons. In 1974 Del and Irene built a beautiful home in South Lake Tahoe where he continued his carpentry and built many other homes and remodels. He enjoyed, gardening, fishing and of course woodworking and sold many of his craftworks at craft and art shows. He was preceded in death by his wife Irene in 1989, stepsons Jerome L. Lohrmann and James W. Lohrmann; parents Christina and Louis; Brothers Raymond and Norman Neumeyer and sister Marion. He is survived by daughter-in-law, Catherine Fenyvesi; son-in-law, Zoltan Fenyvesi; stepson Timothy W. Lohrmann; daughter-in-law, Donna R. Lohrmann; Grandchildren, Timothy S. Lohrmann and Taunya M. Moore; Great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn; Victoria; Ethan and Sophia; and brother Wallace "Pete" Neumeyer (Helen) in Mi. A military graveside service will be held Friday, June 22nd, at 12:00 pm at Happy Homestead Cemetery in South Lake Tahoe, Ca.
